Human Design and Operator Error Detection and Prevention Methods, Tools and Technologies with Practical Case Studies & Examples: an interactive NJIT ASQ Chapter workshop presentation

Losses are attributable to human error. Errors can occur not only during the implementation of various processes, but also in the design and operation control of processes.

A human error means that something has been done that was not intended by the actor (meaning neither by the designer nor by the operator of a process, or procedure; meaning the same here).

Teen Stem Day Invitation

On Friday March 21, 2014, high school students from all around Bergen County will converge upon Bergen Community College in Paramus New Jersey to take part in hands-on workshops in the areas of Science, Technology, Engineering and Math (S.T.E.M.). The goal is to open the minds of these young people to the various career opportunities in the S.T.E.M. fields as they participate in the SECOND ANNUAL TEEN S.T.E.M. Day!

We are looking for volunteers to help host/teach one of these sessions. Students will be anticipating exciting and engaging hands-on activities and we look forward to your help offering these experiences to them! We are also looking for volunteers with information tables at lunch regarding Careers in S.T.E.M.

Please fill out the following form by August 1, 2013. A member of the committee will get back to you with additional details.

Our inaugural event, held in the winter of 2012, was highly regarded by the student participants and received a great deal of media attention including The Bergen Record, the Patch, and various local television spots.

Thanks for a great Section meeting yesterday and thanks again for Dave and Bill for an engaging QA presentation (with full set props and all!). They presented on Survivor Stories, a set of case studies from “the QA foxhole” out in the field and we covered everything from imported radios and drug testing to Madagascar vanilla extract and computer monitor quality.
